According to various reports, Sanju Samson has decided to part ways with Rajasthan Royals (RR), a team for which he has scored over 4,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also took them to the final in 2022. It is believed that Samson is unhappy at the Royals and wants a swift resolution.
There are rumours of his move to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the Men in Yellow are looking for a long-term option once MS Dhoni calls it a day. Now, rumours of Samson's trade to CSK have gathered more pace following his reaction to the question.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who is also believed to part ways with CSK, on his YouTube channel, dropped a promo for the upcoming season of his show, and the first guest of the season is none other than Samson, whom Ashwin met in Kerala for this episode. Notably, the two played for RR in 2024.
“I have a lot of questions to ask. But before that, I thought I'll come directly and trade myself. I am happy to stay back in Kerala. There are a lot of rumours going on. Neither do I know of anything. So, I thought I'll reach out to you and ask you. If I can stay back in Kerala and you can travel back to Chennai," Ashwin said in the teaser.
While Samson did not utter a word, he could not control his laughter, and at the same time, he neither confirmed nor denied these reports. There could be some clarity on it once the full interview is out. If Samson makes the move, it will be the third IPL franchise he would have played for after Delhi Capitals (2016-17) and RR (2013-15, 2018-2025).
