Death, taxes, and Shubman Gill scoring centuries.
Three things that are certain in this lifetime. The 26-year-old continued his dazzling run in the longest format, bringing up his fifth century in the year against West Indies, on October 11 (Saturday).
In just his 12th innings as a Test captain, Gill has managed to put up an amazing display of his own skill set. The right-hander walked out with India in a very strong position against West Indies, and he carried on that form in the most Gill-esque manner, combining briefly with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
But he only grew in aggression while batting alongside Nitish Kumar Reddy in an attractive stroke-making partnership. Later on, the right-hander brought up his fifth century of the year, with a cut against Khary Pierre, where he got three runs.
After Virat Kohli, Gill became the only Indian captain to notch up five Test hundreds in the same calendar year.

Alongside that, Gill also joined three of the Fab Four (Smith, Root and Kohli) to notch up five or more Test hundreds in a year across the last 15 years.
