India are struggling massively on Day five of the Lord’s Test with the side being seven down while chasing 193 on a pitch with inconsistent bounce and considerable seam movement.
Amidst the ongoing cricket tussle, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and England pacer Bryson Carse clashed on the last ball of the 35th over as Jadeja cut him through point and set off for a run. Both players were ball watching as the Indian batter collided with the English bowler while taking the first run.
Carse wasn’t happy with this collision at all, and just like England had done all morning today, he had a go at Jadeja, showing his resentment verbally. Jadeja responded as well, however, skipper Ben Stokes came in between the two and stopped the brief kerfuffle as the game resumed.
India were already put on the backfoot by England in the third session on Day 4, as they lost four wickets in that session, including Karun Nair, Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Shubman Gill.
India batted like a team under a mountain of pressure on Day five morning as well, and within no time, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Washington Sundar returned to the pavilion, compounding the young side’s misery. Nitish Kumar Reddy was also caught behind, just a few overs after the Carse-Jadeja clash in the last over before lunch, to drown India’s hope of a win.
