Former India batter Suresh Raina reckons Ravindra Jadeja is among the players who could be MS Dhoni's successor at Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Raina was not retained by CSK this season and also went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction.
"Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa and Dwayne Bravo can lead the side. They are capable, know the game very well and can be a successor for MS Dhoni," Raina said in a press conference organised by Star Sports.
However, Raina will be seen in a new role in IPL 2022 - that of a commentator. He says he will take tips from some of his friends who have been successful.
"I am prepared for this. Some of my friends Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawala are already doing commentary. And then we will have Ravi Bhai (Shashtri) also in this season. So I think it's going to be easy for me. I can take tips from my friends," the four-time IPL winner said.
Since making his IPL debut in 2008, Suresh Raina has scored 5,528 runs in the tournament at a strike-rate of 136.73, which includes a century and 39 fifties.
