During Match 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium on March 31 (Monday), Suryakumar Yadav became the fifth Indian batter to cross the 8000-run mark in the T20s.
SKY slammed 27* off 9 as MI chased down KKR’s 117-run target in just 12.5 overs to register their first win of the IPL 2025.
Virat Kohli (12976), Rohit Sharma (11851), Shikhar Dhawan (9797) and Suresh Raina (8654) are the four Indian batters with more runs than SKY in the 20-over format.
Suryakumar has 8007 runs in 288 innings at an average of 34.22 and a strike rate of 152.3, studded with 54 fifties and six centuries. SKY has the best strike rate amongst all five Indian batters, with 8000 runs in the T20s.
3137 of those runs have come for MI, while 2634 have come for India in the T20Is. SKY also has 1552 runs for Mumbai in domestic cricket, with the remaining 684 runs coming for KKR.
