Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav is likely to be sidelined for four weeks due to an arm injury, according to a report by Cricbuzz.
The 31-year old was hit on the left arm during Mumbai Indians' match against Gujarat Titans on last Friday (May 6). A swollen arm next morning saw him ruled out of IPL 2022.
"Suryakumar Yadav has sustained a muscle strain on the left forearm, and has been ruled out for the season. He has been advised rest, in consultation with the BCCI medical team," an official statement by MI said on Monday.
According to the report, the batter has not reported to the NCA in Bengaluru and is awaiting results of further scans in Mumbai. The selectors are likely to pick him in the squad for the five-match T20I series against South Africa from June 9-19 but not might play all the matches.
