Fresh off a silverware, Mumbai’s all-rounder Tanush Kotian will join the 2008 Indian Premier League winners Rajasthan Royals. On March 21 (Thursday), the Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa pulled out of the tournament due to personal reasons, and Kotian will be his replacement at the franchise.
Kotian was one of Mumbai’s key players in their 42nd Ranji Trophy title win. In the red-ball tournament, the 25-year-old scored 502 runs for Mumbai, averaging a staggering 41.83 with the bat. Not to forget the 17 crucial scalps he picked up with the ball. The all-rounder will be a key addition to the Royals setup, with impressive T20 numbers: 24 wickets @20.04, and an economy of 6.07.
Robin Minz ruled out
Gujarat Titans will be without their aggressive wicketkeeper-batter Robin Minz. The talented 21-year-old, who was well-hyped post the Auction, won’t be part of the 2024 competition after an accident involving his superbike.
In his absence, the Titans have named the Karnataka wicketkeeper-batter BR Sharath to their setup. Sharath, not usually known for his T20 game, has been a regular feature in Karnataka’s red-ball side of things.
The 27-year-old from Karnataka has represented the state in 28 T20s, scoring 328 runs, averaging 15.61. But last year, Sharath put up amazing numbers in the Maharaja T20 league, scoring 283 runs, striking at 169.46, including a century for the Mangaluru Dragons.
