The Hundred 2025: 3 England Players IPL Franchises Will Keep An Eye On
The eight-team event gets underway on August 5 (Tuesday)
The Hundred has been an interesting concept that has garnered mixed reviews so far. However, it is a terrific platform on which scouts from many franchises will have their eyes on. We look at some of the players the Indian Premier League (IPL) scouts will have an eye on.
Gus Atkinson
Gus Atkinson's stocks have gone up over the last year or so. He has a century at Lord's and has been rampant for England with the ball, especially in Tests. Along with pace, Atkinson is an all-phase bowler and is a genuine wicket-taker whenever he comes on to bowl. Who wouldn't want him on their side?
Ben Duckett
Arguably the best all-format batter in the world right now, Ben Duckett knows how to keep the scorecard moving at a brisk pace. In other words, he certainly would be CSK's dream given that they have not fired all cylinders with the bat, especially in the first six. Since 2023, Duckett has struck at a strike rate of nearly 170 in the powerplay, including 21 sixes. He would certainly be a valuable addition to the IPL.
Jamie Smith
A safe wicketkeeper and a top-class batter, Jamie Smith would be a welcome addition to the IPL. He has already got a taste of facing the Indian bowlers, having played a couple of T20Is and five Tests against them already. The 25-year-old would fit into any IPL team seamlessly.
