Tripura police launch investigation following Mayank Agarwal's health scare

A case was registered at the New Capital Complex police station, following a statement given by Mayank's team manager Ramesh Rao

The Tripura police have registered a case following India batter Mayank Agarwal's health scare. Mayank was deboarded from the plane and rushed to a hospital in Agartala after he complained of irritation in his mouth and throat after consuming some liquid, which he thought was water that he consumed on the plane.

He was on his way to Surat via Delhi for Karnataka's next Ranji Trophy game against Railways, which begins on Friday (February 2). 

A case was registered at the New Capital Complex police station following a statement given by Mayank's team manager, Ramesh Rao. West Tripura Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar visited the the Karnataka captain at the hospital. 

“This evening, cricketer Mr. Mayank Agarwal was transported from the MBB Airport Agartala to ILS Hospitals Agartala. He was experiencing some oral irritation and swelling on his lips. After being assessed by the consultants of the hospital in emergency, he was admitted. For now, he’s clinically stable and is being constantly clinically monitored,” the hospital said in a statement.

Mayank is believed to be "clinically stable" and is undergoing treatment. 

Mayank-led Karnataka were in Agartala, where they played their fourth round Ranji Trophy fixture against Tripura, which they won by 29 runs on Monday (January 29). Karnataka currently sit on top of the Elite Group C table, having secured 15 points from four matches so far.
