Tristan Stubbs joins Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Tymal Mills

The 21-year-old is a talented middle-order batter and recently debuted for the national South African A Squad against Zimbabwe

Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed 21-year-old wicket-keeper from South Africa Tristan Stubbs as a replacement for left-arm pacer Tymal Mills for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Mills, who picked six wickets in five games, has an ankle injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament. He will join MI at the price of INR 20 Lakh.

Mills returned to the Indian Premier League after performing well in the Hundred last year and picked up six wickets at an economy of 11.17. With Mumbai failing to find a perfect combination, he was somehow a solace but then conceded 54 runs against Lucknow Super Giants in three overs. His injury, however, is believed to be a minor one and he is expected to be fit for the upcoming season of T20 Blast.

The 21-year-old is a talented middle-order batter and recently debuted for the national South African A Squad against Zimbabwe. Tristan has had a very promising domestic season in South Africa and has scored 293 runs at an average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 183.12 for the Warriors in the recently-concluded CSA Challenge.

Overall, the batter has played 17 T20s in his career and has scored 506 runs with three half-centuries and at a strike rate of 157.14.
