Karnataka would welcome Prasidh Krishna and Devdutt Padikkal for the knockout stages of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, which will be held from January 9 in Vadodara. Bengal, too, have been given the good news that their talismanic batter, Abhimanyu Easwaran, will be available for the knockout stages.
However, Karnataka would be without KL Rahul, who has requested a break. Washington Sundar could also appear for Tamil Nadu, but only if the state reaches the semi-final stage of the competition.
According to ESPNCricinfo, Easwaran flew early from Australia to link up with the rest of the Bengal squad for their knockout clash (pre-quarter-final) against Haryana. But his teammate Akash Deep, who injured himself during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will miss out on domestic fixtures until he recovers fully.
Both Padikkal and Krishna will fly out with the rest of the Indian players ahead of Karnataka’s quarter-final fixture against Baroda. While Padikkal played the opener in Perth, Krishna was part of the Indian setup in the final Test in Sydney.
