Virat Kohli has confirmed his availability for the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Railways, set to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, according to a report on Sportstar.
“Kohli spoke to me and confirmed his availability for the Railways game,” Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley told Sportstar on January 20 (Monday).
Kohli last played in the tournament in 2012, when he played for Delhi against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad. The BCCI recently made it mandatory for players to return to domestic cricket to be eligible for national selection.
Kohli will, however, miss Delhi's next game against Saurashtra, starting January 23 (Thursday) due to a neck sprain.
The 36-year-old did not have a good outing in the Test series against Australia, managing just 190 runs in five Tests, despite scoring a ton in the first Test in Perth.
However, he has been picked in the 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the three-match ODI series against England before that.
