Last week, India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)’s star batter Virat Kohli removed all promotional posts and advertisements from his Instagram profile and moved them to the reels section. The ‘posts’ section now only has updates about his personal and cricketing lives.
Many people on social media loved Kohli’s new-look Instagram feed but were still unsure why he removed all paid partnerships from his main feed.
Kohli has finally responded on the matter, saying: "I am in a very interesting space with social media. Currently, I am not in a place where I am engaging too much.
“You never know about the future. But it definitely needed a reset,” Kohli told Mr.Nags in a video posted by RCB.
Kohli has 271 million followers on Instagram, only behind footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the most-followed sportsmen on the platform.
Kohli is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. RCB have won four of their six games so far in the IPL 2025.
Kohli himself has been in great form, having smashed 248 runs in six innings at an average of 62 and a strike rate of 143.35.
