It has been widely reported that Virat Kohli has made his intentions to retire from Test cricket clear to the BCCI. However, the Indian cricket board is persuading him to rethink his decision and wants him to play the five-match Test series against England, starting June 20.
With Rohit Sharma also having retired, Kohli's experience will certainly be handy in England - a country where his performances have been mixed.
Speaking of this, former Australia captain Michael Clarke believes Kohli should continue playing and he has a lot of runs in him. "I hope the rumours aren’t true. I believe Virat still has a lot of Test runs in him and any team with him in it is a better team,” Clarke told Revsportz.
He also added that India will find it difficult to replace Rohit at the top.
"He is a player that any team would miss. Tactically, as a captain, he will be very hard to replace. He read the game exceptionally well," Clarke said.
India's tour of England will mark the beginning of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
