Virat Kohli Retirement: Batter Shares Cryptic Message Ahead Of Australia ODIs
The batter returns to the Indian team for the first time since March
The much-awaited return of Virat Kohli is just around the corner as he prepares to take on Australia in a three-match ODI series, starting October 19 (Sunday) in Perth.
Along with Kohli, former skipper Rohit Sharma also makes his return to international cricket. The two stars will be playing for India for the first time since the ICC Champions Trophy in March.
Having retired from Tests and T20Is, Kohli and Rohit have shown eagerness in playing on till the 2027 ODI World Cup, and the series against Australia marks the road towards it.
However, with plenty of rumours floating around indicating that the Australia series could be Kohli's last, the batter has dropped a cryptic message on social media. It read, "The only time you truly fail is when you decide to give up."
India fell agonisingly short of clinching the World Cup in 2023, having gone unbeaten until the final, where they lost to Australia. Since then, Kohli and Rohit have been on a mission to regain the World Cup, which will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in two years.
