Virat Kohli is back in the playing 11 for the second ODI between India and England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9 (Sunday). India also handed Varun Chakravarthy an ODI debut, rewarding him for his good showing in the T20Is earlier.
While Kohli replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had made his ODI debut in the last match in Nagpur, Chakravarthy was brought into the playing 11 in place of Kuldeep Yadav.
England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bat first. They made three changes to their playing 11 as Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton were brought in for Jofra Archer, Brydon Carse and Jacob Bethell, respectively.
India are already leading the series 1-0 and if they win this one, they will take an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Chakravarthy became India's second-oldest debutant in ODIs. At 33 years and 164 days, he is only behind Farokh Engineer, who made his India ODI debut at 36 years and 138 days.
The boundaries are 63 and 64m and the straight boundary is 73m hit. It is not hard as the last pitch and it's cracked so it might spin a bit in the last 30 overs. The ball will come on nicely as the pitch is a bit abrasive. It might slow down in the second half of the first innings. Captains might want to bowl first and there might be a bit of dew in the second half.
