Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will be in top shape ahead of T20 World Cup: Sourav Ganguly
The duo have not been in the best of forms in IPL 2022
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly says he is confident that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be in top form ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022, scheduled to be played in Australia in October-November.
Kohli and Rohit have not been in the best of forms with the bat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Kohli has scored 236 at 19.66, while Rohit's returns have been even worse, having scored just 218 runs at 18.16.
“I’m not worried at all about the form of Rohit or Virat. They are too good…real big players. The World Cup is far away and I am quite confident that they will be in top shape much before the tournament," Ganguly said in a chat with Mid-Day.
After a limited-overs series against South Africa at home, they head to Ireland and then South Africa for multi-format series.
Rohit and other senior members including Kohli and KL Rahul could be rested for the series against South Africa and Ireland. They will however be available for the England tour.
