Virat Kohli’s Next Gen Arrives - Nephew Aaryaveer To Feature In DPL 2025 Auction
Meanwhile, former India opener Virender Sehwag’s sons, Aaryavir and Vedant, are also part of the draft
Aaryaveer Kohli, the son of Virat Kohli’s elder brother Vikas Kohli, has been named in the initial draft list for the second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL). The DPL 2025 auction will take place on July 5.
The 15-year-old leg-spinner trains under Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Raj Kumar Sharma at the West Delhi Cricket Academy. Aaryaveer has been included in Category C, as he was a registered player for the Delhi Under-16 team last season.
Meanwhile, former India opener Virender Sehwag’s sons, Aaryavir and Vedant, are also part of the draft. Aaryavir has represented Delhi Under-19 and scored a remarkable 297 against Meghalaya, while his younger brother Vedant, an off-spinner, has played for the Delhi Under-16 side.
East Delhi Riders won the DPL 2024, defeating South Delhi Superstarz by three runs in a thrilling final. The inaugural season produced standout talents like Priyansh Arya, Digvesh Rathi, and Prince Yadav, who all went on to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Last season featured six teams: East Delhi Riders, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions, South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Dilli 6, and Central Delhi Kings. This year, the league expands to eight teams, with Outer Delhi and New Delhi being added as the two new franchises.
