The Delhi vs Railways match in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, will finally be available for live streaming on the Jio Cinema app after much fuss was made over it. The game was not originally on the roster to be telecasted live. The roasters are usually made at least a month ago from the date of the start of a particular round as broadcast arrangements are made in advance.
However, with Virat Kohli playing his first Ranji Trophy match in 12 years, a last-minute call was made by the BCCI and the broadcasters to make sure that the match was added to the roster.
According to a Hindustan Times report, “The general norm is that the BCCI has one premier match, which is aired both on TV and streaming apps, and for this round, it was Karnataka versus Haryana. The other two games to be live streamed on digital platforms were Punjab vs Bengal at the Eden Gardens and Baroda vs Jammu and Kashmir in Baroda.”
The Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) is expecting at least 10,000 spectators for the first day of play on January 30 and people have been asked to bring along their Aadhar Card and a copy of it, which will be submitted at the entry gates as there are no tickets for sale for this game.
“The Gautam Gambhir Stand will be open for the spectators. The fans can enter from Gate No 16 and 17. We are expecting a 10,000 crowd for the first day. It’s a free entry. The fans just need to bring their original copy of their Aadhaar card and its photocopy as well,” Ashok Kumar Sharma, DDCA’s secretary was quoted as saying to Indian Express.
