Jasprit Bumrah is in the midst of his most economical IPL season ever, with his economy rate reading an astonishing 6.4 before the Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Naturally, as Bumrah was introduced into the attack in the fifth over of the chase, with Punjab’s score reading 35/1, the ace speedster was expected to choke PBKS further and put Mumbai in a position of ascendancy.
However, in arguably the most unbelievable and extraordinary onslaught of the season, Punjab’s Josh Inglis not just took on Bumrah but hammered him for 20 RUNS - his most expensive over of IPL 2025.
4 0 6 0 4 6 read the six balls Bumrah bowled to Inglis as the Australian wicketkeeper tore into MI trump card.
Both fours came off flicks, while the first six of the over was a massive hit over long-on. With 14 off the first 5 balls, Bumrah went short and wide, and Inglis had an answer to that too, as he slashed the right-arm seamer over third man. It took PBKS’ score from 35/1 in 4 to 55/1 in 5 overs, firmly putting them in control of the chase.
Pressure? What pressure? 😏

Inglis now has faced 22 balls of Bumrah in T20s, and has scored 40 runs at a strike rate of 182 while not even getting dismissed once.
However, MI bounced back eventually, with them taking out both Inglis and Priyansh Arya in the next three overs.
