Gujarat Giants’ trust in Kashvee Gautam continued to pay off, with the right-arm speedster removing Richa Ghosh in the clash against RCB on February 27. Gautam was on absolute fire early in the clash when she got the ball hooping against Smriti Mandhana in the powerplay.
While she didn’t get Mandhana’s wicket, that pressure ultimately removed the RCB skipper, who holed out straight to Harleen Deol in the outfield. But it was during her second spell that the pacer breathed fire, bowling one yorker after another with so much control.
One of those yorkers were against the hard-hitting batter Ghosh, who was undone by the precision. In the aftermath of that cracking delivery, Gautam also pulled off a celebration eerily similar to Shubman Gill, bowing down.
“I thought of changing something, nothing much about it,” Gautam said in the mid-innings chat about her celebration.
In the mid-innings chat, Gautam revealed how she managed to bamboozle the talented batter.
“My strength is swing so I focused on bowling it in the right areas. I bowl from wider of the crease to create an angle and try to bowl it cross-seam,” she added.
