One last time.
The three-match ODI series between Australia and India was heavily promoted as the one last tour Down Under for cricket icons, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. However, till the third ODI in Sydney on October 25 (Saturday), it was a very indifferent tour for Kohli, who had scores of 0 (8) and 0 (4).
All eyes were on Kohli to see whether he would turn his fortune around and leave Australia on a high, given his excellent record in the country. The crowd rallied behind their star, Kohli, as he walked out to the middle with thunderous applause. Unfortunately for Kohli, his arch nemesis, Josh Hazlewood, was out there with the ball.
However, off the very first ball, Kohli showed a great level of proactiveness, as he flicked one through the short midwicket region for a quick single. The crowd were up on their feet, celebrating the single as if it were a century, and Kohli acknowledged that in his own fashion to the crowd.
Kohli put his fist up and pumped it, celebrating the single. The right-hander was then seen at his dominant best, smashing 22 off 21 balls at the time of writing this report, with three exquisite boundaries.
The best came against Mitchell Starc, when the right-hander played a good-looking vertical drive down the ground, showing how ‘Form is temporary, class is permanent’.
