His aggression was clearly visible in his wicket celebration and the one that stands out is his wild celebration after depositing the ball into the stands for a six against South Africa’s Andre Nel during a Test match.
There are some players who feed off their in-built aggressive nature and Sreesant was one of them. However, the Kerala pacer thinks that former India captain and modern-day great, Virat Kohli.
Speaking on a podcast with sports commentator Padamjit Shehrawat, Sreesanth said that he would change ‘nothing’ about Kohli’s aggressive nature.
“What others call aggression, I call it passion. Is Virat Kohli aggressive? No. I think he is obsessed. Virat's aggression, people say, is a lot. I would say if he reduces that aggression, he won't be the same player,” Indian Express quoted the 42-year-old as saying.
Both Sreesanth and Kohli were part of India’s ODI World Cup-winning squad in 2011. Sreesanth even featured in the T20 World Cup-winning squad of India in 2007, while Kohli won his maiden T20 World Cup in 2024.
