"Where Is Bazball?" - Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill Troll Joe Root And England Batters

None of the English batters operated at a strike rate higher than 58 on day one of the third Test at Lord's

England lost only four wickets on Day 1 of the third Test against India at Lord’s on July 10 (Thursday) but played an “anti-Bazball” brand of cricket, scoring 251 runs in 83 overs at a run rate of 3.02. None of the English batters operated at a strike rate higher than 58.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, in particular, bowled with great discipline and control, preventing the hosts from scoring freely. England’s best batter, Joe Root, is unbeaten on 99 off 191 deliveries, while captain Ben Stokes is with him on 39 off 102 balls.

Siraj, known for his aggressive and animated style, kept the energy up throughout the day and even took a dig at England’s ultra-aggressive ‘Bazball’ approach. At one point, the seamer looked Root straight in the eye and said: "Where is Bazball? Baz Baz Bazball, come on, I want to see.”

Indian skipper Shubman Gill also joined in the banter and was caught on the stump mic, mocking the English approach. “No more entertaining cricket. Welcome back to the boring Test cricket, boys," Gill was heard saying.

The five-match series is currently level at 1-1, with England winning the first Test by five wickets and India bouncing back with a 336-run win in the second.
