Who Is Aryaveer Kohli, Nephew Of Virat Kohli, Who Is Playing Delhi Premier League 2025
Aryaveer is the son of Virat Kohli’s elder brother Vikas Kohli and is yet to represent Delhi in age-group cricket
He is yet to play age-group cricket, but Aryaveer Kohli has already impressed some big names in the Delhi cricket ecosystem. The 15-year-old leg-spinner, who’s the son of Virat Kohli’s elder brother Vikas, will be featuring for South Delhi Superstarz (SDS) in the 2025 season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) after being picked in the auction for INR 1 Lakh.
Aryaveer, who is quite young and idolises Shane Warne, is a right-arm leg-spinner and has been trained by Virat Kohli’s coach Rajkumar Sharma, at West Delhi Cricket Academy. He has already impressed doyens of Delhi cricket like Sarandeep Singh, who has mentored him and praised his attitude as he’s not succumbing to the pressure of his family name.
He has a strong action already at 15, despite not representing Delhi at the Under-16 or Under-19 levels yet. However, his pedigree and form in training was good enough for SDS to bid on him and ensure he features in the second edition of DPL.
He will be led by Ayush Badoni, and his team features IPL leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi, who also kept a close eye on him during training. Working with proven performers like Rathi, who made the jump to the IPL stage after DPL, would certainly hold the teenager in good stead, giving him exposure to experience and training in a professional setup.
While Virat made his name through his batting, the next best cricketer in his family would do well to continue his legacy with the ball in hand. The DPL can prove to be a great trampoline for Aryaveer Kohli’s career.
