Prabhsimran Singh became the first Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter to hit four consecutive fifties in the Indian Premier League (IPL) when he scored 50* in the abandoned game against Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 8, but those runs were retracted from his IPL tally.
The runs and subsequently the record was taken away from Prabhsimran's tally as the PBKS-DC game last week was voided completely, meaning all records related to the game got erased. The PBKS-DC clash has now been rescheduled to May 24.
Prabhsimran was hardly 20 runs away from becoming the leading run-scorer, but is now more than 50 runs away after he got out for a 10-ball 21 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 18 (Sunday).
The wicketkeeper-batter started from where he left off, taking the attack to Fazalhaq Farooqi, Tushar Deshpande and Kwena Maphaka. Prabhsimran smashed three fours and a six before getting out to Deshpande on the first delivery of the fourth over.
Priyansh Arya, who smoked 70 off 34 deliveries in the abandoned game against DC, also got out for a low score against RR. The left-hander could only manage 9 off 7 deliveries.
