India spinner Kuldeep Yadav is expected to miss a few matches against South Africa as he has requested leave for his wedding, according to reports. Kuldeep has requested days off during the last week of November, meaning he could miss the second Test against South Africa, starting November 22 in Guwahati, followed by the first One-Day International (ODI) in Ranchi on November 30.
If selected in the squad, he could be available for the second ODI, which will be played in Raipur on December 3.
The BCCI is yet to approve his request. Kuldeep was due to get married earlier this year during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, but the cross-border tension between India and Pakistan forced him to postpone it.
"Kuldeep's wedding is planned for the last week of November. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of days off," a BCCI source told Times of India.
The 30-year-old is currently playing the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata and did a fine job with the ball, finishing with 2/36 as the Proteas folded for just 159 in the first innings. In response, India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early, but are 122 runs behind, with nine wickets in hand.
