Williamson, Southee return for white-ball tour of West Indies

The duo were rested for New Zealand's recent white-ball series against Ireland

Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Devon Conway all returned to New Zealand's white-ball squad for the tour of West Indies next month.

The quartet were rested for the Black Caps' recent series against Ireland as it closely followed the Test series against England. New Zealand are set to play three T20Is and three ODIs against the West Indies from August 10-21.

The ODI series will be a part of the World Cup Super League.

"It's always exciting to be heading somewhere you've not been in a while and I know this group can't wait for the challenge of taking on the West Indies in the Caribbean," head coach Gary Stead said.

"For Kane, Trent, Tim and Devon, this will be the first time they have played white ball cricket for New Zealand since last year's T20 World Cup and tour to India - so this trip will be important for them."

Williamson has been named captain of the 15-player combined squad while allrounder Michael Bracewell and Finn Allen kept their places after impressive performances against the Irish.

"We also have players such as Michael and Finn who are relatively new to the international stage but have really put their hands up for selection when given opportunities."

Dean Brownlie will join the squad as batting coach while Graeme Aldridge will be the bowling coach.

New Zealand squad for West Indies tour: Kane Williamson (C), Finn Allen, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee.
