World Cup Winner Urges Virat Kohli To Return To Test Cricket
Kohli is India's fourth-highest run-getter with 9,230 runs at 46.85
Former India captain Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket ahead of the five Tests against England, leaving many disappointed. Among those was former India all-rounder Madan Lal, who has urged Kohli to return to the format.
“Virat Kohli’s passion for Indian cricket was unmatched. It is my wish that he should come back to Test cricket after retirement,” the 1983 World Cup winner said on CricketPredicta, as reported by India Today.
“There’s nothing wrong with returning. If not in this series, he should make a comeback in the next.”
Kohli is India's fourth-highest run-getter with 9,230 runs at 46.85, which includes 30 tons and 32 fifties. He is the most successful Indian Test captain with 40 wins under his belt in 68 matches.
Lal, who last played for India in 1987, was the second-highest wicket-taker for India in the 1983 World Cup in England. He also slammed 102 runs at 34 with the bat.
