After leading India Women to their maiden World Cup title, Harmanpreet Kaur will have a stand named after her at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. She revealed that she had received a letter from the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) informing her of the same.
“I have already received a letter from PCA saying that they will soon unveil a stand after me at Mullanpur,” she said on a show on CNN News18 on November 28 (Friday).
Harmanpreet will become only the second woman cricketer from India to have this honour after Jhulan Goswami, who has her stand at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The 36-year-old scored 260 runs in the Women's World Cup, which included two fifties. Overall, she has slammed over 8,000 runs for India across formats to go with 75 wickets with her part-time off-spin. India beat South Africa by 52 runs in the final on November 2 at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai to become world champions for the first time ever.
