The Warriorz, who will be led by India’s star all-rounder Deepti Sharma, will be playing their first game of the season, while the Giants were involved in a high-scoring tournament opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on February 14.
Gujarat put on quite a show with the bat, with the likes of Beth Mooney (42-ball 56), Ashleigh Gardner (37-ball 79*) and Deandra Dottin (13-ball 25) propelling them to a massive score of 201/5 in their 20 overs. The surface was superb for batting and RCB hunted down the total with more than one over to spare. Unlike their batters, not a single GG bowler could make an impact with the ball. That’s an area GG will have to improve on when they play UP.
