Delhi Capitals’ Annabel Sutherland had the last laugh against Mumbai Indians’ captain Harmanpreet Kaur during the second match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 on February 15 (Saturday).
Harman, who was looking in great touch at the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) Stadium Vadodara, hit Sutherland for three fours and a six on the first four balls of that over, in which she was caught on the fifth ball.
Looking to make use of the shorter boundary on the leg side, Harman went for the big heave but was unable to connect, resulting in the ball hanging in the air for quite a lot as India’s U-19 World Cup winning captain and WPL debutant Nikki Prasad settled herself under it and took a comfortable catch.
Before getting out, the MI skipper scored 42 off just 22 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes, entertaining the crowd thoroughly, almost rolling the clock back a few years. This was one of, if not her best, free-flowing innings in the last two years.
