WPL 2025: Mumbai Indians' (MI) probable playing 11 and full squad

Mumbai Indians would be hoping to make the third season theirs, after winning the inaugural edition

It could have been two in a row, but Mumbai Indians fell at the most inopportune moment of the Women's Premier League (WPL) to be knocked out by just five runs. But the inaugural season winners, Mumbai Indians, will gather more courage and confidence heading into the 2025 WPL edition, where they have significantly strengthened their squad.

With a purse of INR 2.65 crore, MI made the big move to sign the 16-year-old prodigy G Kamalini. The left-hander is already one of the highly sought-after players given her skillset and her ability to clear the boundaries with so much ease. She’s also a handy back-up for MI, especially with Yastika Bhatia being injury-prone.

MI have also strengthened their bowling department, signing Rajasthan’s Akshita Maheshwari. She can move the ball sharply into the right-handers and be quite handy at the death with her variations. She’s picked up 23 wickets in just eight Women’s U-23 ODI trophy games, with two hat-tricks.

In Nadine de Klerk, MI, also filled the slot left by Issy Wong, adding more impetus to their already strong bench strength. All eyes will yet again be on Harmanpreet Kaur’s captaincy and how Amelie Kerr continues her strong run after leading New Zealand to their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title.
