The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) suffered a major injury blow yet again in a season that has already been jolted by multiple star players being ruled out. The latest casualty is off-spinner Shreyanka Patil, the Purple Cup holder last season. Patil is now ruled out of Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 due to an injury.
Off-spinning allrounder Sneh Rana has been slotted in as her like-for-like replacement and has already joined the RCB setup. RCB have included her in their squad for ₹30 Lakh.
Shreyanka picked up 19 wickets last season and played a key role in RCB winning the trophy. RCB have already lost Asha Sobhana and Sophie Molineux, who were the second and third-highest wicket-takers last season. Sophie Devine also had to exclude herself from the season after she took a break from cricket.
Shreyanka posted on her Instagram yesterday, February 14, indicating that the season might be over for her. She has been out of cricketing action since October last year due to injuries and was supposed to return this WPL season.
