3 Bowlers Against Whom Virat Kohli Has Never Hit A Six In IPL
There are 35 bowlers against whom Kohli has faced more than 50 deliveries in the IPL, but only three have never conceded a six
8396 runs in 253 innings at an average of 39.42 and a strike rate of 132.5, studded with 60 fifties and eight centuries - Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)’s Virat Kohli is the most consistent batter in the history of the Indian Premier League. The batting maestro has been playing in the IPL since its inception in 2008, and has smashed 740 fours and 285 sixes in this period.
Now, there are 35 bowlers against whom Kohli has faced more than 50 deliveries, but only three have never conceded a six against the run machine.
Mohammed Shami
(107 runs, 77 balls, dismissals 5, average 21.4, strike rate 139, 4s/6s 17/0)
Indian paceman Mohammed Shami has bowled the most number of deliveries to Virat Kohli in the IPL without conceding a six. Kohli has faced 77 deliveries of Shami but has never managed to hit him for a six. The right-handed batter has also got out to Shami on five occasions.
Deepak Chahar
(80 runs, 59 balls, dismissals 1, average 80, strike rate 135.6, 4s/6s 12/0)
Kohli averages 80 against Deepak Chahar, who is mostly known for his swing bowling in the powerplay, which means he has not really struggled against the right-arm seamer. It’s just that the 36-year-old is yet to hit Chahar for a six in the IPL.
Kuldeep Yadav
(61 runs, 53 balls, dismissals 1, average 61, strike rate 115.1, 4s/6s 6/0)
When it comes to strike rate, Kohli has had his troubles against spin, so having Kuldeep Yadav on this list isn’t too surprising. The left-arm wristspinner has dismissed King Kohli only once but has done a tremendous job in keeping him in check, as the aforementioned strike rate suggests.
