3 India Records Vaibhav Suryavanshi, The Teenage Sensation, Can Break

Recently, the 14-year-old entered the record books with a couple of splendid knocks against England

14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to take giant strides in senior cricket. He rose to the limelight with electrifying performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he became the youngest-ever centurion, and he has continued his excellent form at the Under-19 level as well, shattering one record after another.

He recently became the youngest Youth ODI centurion, and just before that, he also smashed the second-fastest fifty by an Indian at the Under-19 level. The southpaw breaking more records looks inevitable at this point.

Let's take a look at three India records he can break in the near future:

Highest score in Youth ODIs

Vaibhav Suryavanshi against England Under-19

Suryavanshi smashed 143 off just 78 deliveries against England in Worcester just a couple of days ago, and he could very well go on to break the record for the highest individual score by an Indian at the Under-19 level. The record currently belongs to Ambati Rayudu, who scored 177* off 114 deliveries against Australia in Sydney back in 2002.

Highest T20 score

Vaibhav Suryavanshi in IPL 2025

With a 35-ball ton against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL, Suryavanshi, at the age of 14 years & 32 days, became the youngest T20 centurion in history. He scored 101 off just 38 deliveries in that match, hitting as many as 11 sixes. However, given the way he is going, there is little to no doubt that he can go on to register the highest T20 score by an Indian - a record currently held by Tilak Varma, who scored 151 off just 67 against Meghalaya last year.

Youngest debutant for India

Sachin Tendulkar is the youngest ever player to make his debut for India across formats, playing a Test at just 16 years & 205 days. Suryavanshi has two more years to break that record.
