The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner, meaning the excitement has doubled, and the fans can’t keep calm. But what’s interesting about all of this is that there isn’t too much of a gap between the end of the Champions Trophy and the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
That’s where we have all the RCB fans covered, who will want to keep an eye on their stars and new signings, with a list of 3 RCB players going on to have a crazy Champions Trophy season.
Phil Salt (England)
Fearless ball striking is exactly what you would expect and most possibly get from RCB’s new signing, Philip Salt. The 28-year-old has scored 866 runs in his ODI career, averaging 34.65 and striking at 113.94.
In just 25 innings, Salt already has 6 fifty or more scores, which could increase in the Champions Trophy. With the stellar IPL 2024 (435 runs @182.01 SR), expect the right-hander to be one of the most in-form batters for the Three Lions.
Josh Hazlewood (Australia)
After missing three Tests against India, Josh Hazlewood will be itching to get his hands on the white ball for the coveted Champions Trophy. Hazlewood averages 27.26 in the 50-over format and, more so, has quite an astonishing record when it comes to the Champions Trophy.
In 2017, the right-arm pacer picked up nine wickets in the competition, averaging 15.77, with figures of 6/52 against New Zealand. Hazlewood will be very crucial to RCB’s chances, and hence, him having a good CT will go a long way in RCB lifting their first-ever IPL trophy.
Virat Kohli (India)
What’s an ICC competition without Virat Kohli’s crazy consistency? Across 13 appearances, Virat Kohli showed great batsmanship, scoring 529 runs, averaging 88.16, one of the best in the tournaments.
In the last 50-over ICC event, Kohli ended the tournament with 765 runs, averaging a staggering 95.62, and was also on song in IPL 2024. Given that it is his favourite format, Kohli might be the player to watch out for in the competition. Rejoice, RCB fans.
