Abhishek Sharma Credits Yuvraj Singh, Suryakumar Yadav For Stellar IPL Returns
The Southpaw smashed 141 off just 55 deliveries against PBKS to win the game for SRH
Abhishek Sharma gave another glimpse of his high ceiling as a T20 batter after he smashed multiple records and scored 141 off just 55 deliveries against the Punjab Kings in Hyderabad on April 12. It helped the Sunrisers Hyderabad win their second game of the season after losing four games on the trot.
The youngster from Punjab credited his mentor Yuvraj Singh and the India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav for his performances after the game.
“Special mention to Yuvraj Paaji as well because I have also been talking to him. And I won't deny Suryakumar Yadav as well, he's been in touch, and he was there for me. He was talking to me, and he knew that this was going to happen very soon, so thanks to him as well,” Abhishek said.
The left-handed all-rounder also thanked skipper Pat Cummins for communicating clearly with the batters despite their method being questioned after consecutive losses in the tournament.
“A special mention to the team and the captain (Pat Cummins) because the atmosphere we had in the team it was pretty much simple,” he added.
“It was, again, very simple message for all the batters, even though we were not doing that well but somehow I knew inside me that I have to do something like this to get back in the winning streak and probably I had a talk with Travis and, you know, it was a special day for both of us.”
SRH, who are ninth on the table after six games, will now play their next game against Mumbai Indians on April 17 in Mumbai.
