St Kitts and Nevis Patriots snap up Tristan Stubbs for upcoming CPL

Most teams have announced their signings, and TKR are now the only team with a vacant overseas spot

Three teams have confirmed their fifth overseas player ahead of Caribbean Premier League 2023 (CPL).

Post the draft held earlier in July, four teams were left with an overseas spot to fill. These included Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Trinbago Knight Riders.

The latest update from the Caribbean Islands is that three of these teams have now joined Barbados Royals and Saint Lucia Kings to have fully assembled squads.

Guyana Amazon Warriors have signed Saim Ayub as their fifth overseas player. The swashbuckling opener set the stage on first with his attacking strokeplay. He ended the season as its seventh highest run-getter, and did so at a fantastic strike rate of 165. The season also helped getting his maiden T20I cap a week later.

The Warriors have also announced that Rahmanullah Gurbaz will not be available for the entire season due to international commitments. Gurbaz will be replaced by Pakistan international Mohammad Haris for that period.

Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting will be joining the Jamaica Tallawahs. Cutting has played at the CPL before with the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in 2018. With experience in the best of T20 leagues around the world, he will add a different dimension to the Tallawahs line up with his powerful batting and skillful bowling.

Tristan Stubbs will be joining the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. A strong hitter who has recently broken into the South African side, Stubbs has experience of playing in T20 leagues in England, India and South Africa. This exciting talent will bring more firepower to the Patriots team.

The upcoming edition will be five weeks long and is scheduled to begin on the 17th of August, just days after India's tour of the West Indies.
