England Women vs India Women, 3rd T20I: Fantasy Preview

Here are a few tips that might help you in creating your fantasy team for the third T20I between England Women and India Women

India Women made an excellent comeback to win the second T20I and level the series 1-1. They have been under the pump on this tour but this was the second indication - after the drawn Test  - to the home side, England Women, that they are hard a unit to defeat. The series now rests on the third T20I in Chelmsford to break the deadlock. However, in a broader scheme of things, if India win this encounter, they will tie with 8 points with England on the points table for the tour.

Ground Details and Team Combination

The third T20I will be played at the County Ground in Chelmsford which is yet to host a women’s T20I. Going by the proceedings of this series, India’s comeback in the second T20I was staged by their spinners. The likes of Deepti Sharma, Poonam Yadav and Sneh Rana were taken for runs in the first T20I but corrected their mistakes in the second match. We expect them to continue on that road. The contest also offers a number of all-rounders. Deepti Sharma and Nat Sciver consistently provide points in both facets of the game and hence should not be missed out on.

Suggested Team

While you could go for the above team, you also have the option of choosing your own team from Cricket.com’s Fantasy Research Centre. You can use this tool to build your team with the help of algorithms. Based on your preferences, the platform will guide you to create the ideal fantasy XI.

Captaincy Suggestion

Nat Sciver is the number one all-rounder in the Women’s T20I Rankings and her performance in the series tells you why. Sciver slammed 55 off just 27 balls in the first T20I before being run out cheaply in the second. But what underlines her as an impeccable captaincy option is her bowling contributions. While she bats at number three, she also opens the bowling and has been amongst wickets in both games.

Our Criclytics Players Projection predicts Sciver to score 16-24 runs and pick 1-2 wickets in this match

X-Factors

Deepti Sharma may have not be a hard-hitter of the ball but she has been the stabilizer for India on this tour, with the bat at least. In the one-off Test, she stood tall to pave the foundation for a draw. In the T20Is, she is yet to be dismissed with scores of 4* and 24*. Her ability to weather the storm makes her a potential vice-captain candidate if you are expecting India’s top-order to wobble. In addition, she is a guaranteed four-over bowler and is brilliant in the field.

Our Criclytics Players Projection predicts Sharma to score 13-19 runs and pick 0-1 wickets in this match

It is a common knowledge that Shafali Verma is a fireball with the bat. Her blazing strokeplay has taken her to the top of the Women’s T20I Batting Rankings within two years of her debut in the format. She can be a hit and miss batter on occasions but on days she fires, she can win matches on her own. She is expected to be a hot pick. Hence, she should be your vice-captain in order to reap you benefits.

Our Criclytics Players Projection predicts Verma to score 29-43 runs in this match

Tammy Beaumont has been one of the more consistent T20I openers of late. Talking about 2021 alone, she averages 35.8 in five matches and is yet to get out for a single-digit score. She has two fifties in this time period - 63 against New Zealand Women and 59 against India in the previous match.

Our Criclytics Players Projection predicts Beaumont to score 38-58 runs in this match
