From Virat Kohli To Bumrah: Indian Cricketers Thank Armed Forces
While Kohli dedicated an entire Instagram post thanking the soldiers for fiercely protecting the country
After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was suspended for a week on May 9 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to support the nation in tough times, Indian cricketers, led by former captain and modern-day great Virat Kohli, shared social media posts, praising the Indian Armed Forces for their continuous act of bravery as tensions with Pakistan scale new heights with each passing hour.
While Kohli dedicated an entire Instagram post thanking the soldiers for fiercely protecting the country, others like Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah did the same on X (formerly Twitter).
Before these players, former Test and T20I skipper and current ODI captain Rohit Sharma, who recently retired from Tests, also saluted the armed forces specifying Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy for their ultimate valour.
Earlier, the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council (GC), in accordance with all the stakeholders, decided to suspend the IPL 2025 for at least one week.
