Speaking at the end of Day 1, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna said, "I think it is really important for all of us to get this game time. Some of us are coming from the A game [vs England Lions]. Getting some time on feet is important, and that's what is going about today. Looks like a good, hard pitch.
"Bowlers have been in the game throughout. Have been bowling well throughout. Batsmen have also shown character. It's always good when you're competing against each other as well. All of us are excited and enjoying what's happening. All of us are experienced enough to know when to switch on and switch off."
Day 2 is also expected to begin at 3.30 PM IST. Ahead of Day 1, the players wore black armbands and observed a minute's silence to pay homage to the lives lost in the air crash in Ahmedabad. However, head coach Gautam Gambhir was not part of the match as he had flown back home to cater to his ill mother.
