Josh Hazlewood included in 15-member Australia squad for WTC finale

Australia have picked back-up keeper Josh Inglis and spinner Todd Murphy in the final squad, even though there is a great chance that he won’t be able to make it to the XI

Cricket Australia have finalized the squad for the World Test Championship final against India, set to be played from June 7 to June 11 at The Oval in London, with pacer Josh Hazlewood finally making the cut. There had been some doubts about Hazlewood’s availability, with reports suggesting that he would be replaced by Michael Nesar in the squad.

Australia have picked back-up keeper Josh Inglis and spinner Todd Murphy in the final squad, even though there is a great chance that he won’t be able to make it to the XI.

Further, they have also included all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and Matt Renshaw as stand-by players, whereas Michael Neser and Sean Abbott will also play a role in the team's preparations. Both Neser and Abbott are currently in England, playing in the T20 Blast tournament.

India, on the other hand, have made no changes to the 15-player squad, but Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was in scintillating form in this edition of the Indian Premier League, is all set to be part of the stand-by players for the summit clash of the World Test Championship.

The Mumbai batter will replace Ruturaj Gaikwad in the stand-by list of players in the squad after the right-handed batter informed the Board about his unavailability till June 5 due to his marriage.
