Kohli can get under your skin because he is so competitive: Paine

Australia Test captain Tim Paine, while lavishing praise on his Indian counterpart Virat Kohli, says that he can get under your skin because he is so competitive. The pair was involved in a heated on-field altercation during India's tour Down Under in 2018-19. Paine said that he would always remember that.

"For Virat Kohli, I've said many times, he seems like the type of player you would love to have on your team. He is competitive. He is the best batsman in the world," Paine said on the 'Gilly and Goss' podcast.

"He (Kohli) is challenging to play against and he can get under your skin because he is so good and he is so competitive. But yeah, for me from where I came from, sharing a feud with him four years ago, he is certainly someone I will always remember," Paine added.

Kohli led India to a memorable 2-1 series win on that tour, but in the most recent one, it was Ajinkya Rahane, who led India to a memorable series win, which included a hard-fought victory at Australia's fortress - The Gabba.
