Kohli, Rohit Vanish From ODI Rankings? ICC Admits Fault

ICC admitted that it is a glitch in their system, which is why both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are missing from ODI rankings

On August 20 (Wednesday), two of the world's biggest ODI superstars - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli - went missing from the latest ODI rankings, leading to widespread shock. While they are not there in the Test and T20I rankings, the fans were shocked to see their names missing from the ODI format, where they are still dominant forces.

“There was an error in our rankings tables today, but it has been rectified,” the official said, reported Hindustan Times.

However, on August 21 (Thursday), the ICC’s official website has reflected the rankings accurately, as Rohit returns to No.2 on the ICC ODI rankings, with Kohli too marking a return to No.4.

Shubman Gill still holds the ace position in the 50-over format, with 784 rating points, almost 30 more than the second-placed Rohit. Meanwhile, Babar Azam remains the only representative from Pakistan in the top five, holding the third spot despite a disastrous outing in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies.

The newly released rankings also saw South African left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj rise as the No. 1-ranked ODI bowler.
