3 Players CSK Can Acquire In IPL 2026 Trade Window

In the trade window of IPL 2026, here are three players that Chennai Super Kings would look to get

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 ended in early June and just one month after that, we are now talking about the trade window, which will likely be activated after the end of one month of the IPL final of the previous season, means in this case, it will open up from July 4th and remain open till one month before the designated IPL 2026 mini auction.

In this period, teams trade players in a player to player swap or a fully cash deal if they have money left in their purse. The trade is ratified by the IPL Governing Council Chair and agreed upon by the player.

Thus, in the trade window of IPL 2026, here are three players that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) would look to get.

Mitchell Owen

Australian Mitchell Owen was signed as a replacement player for Glenn Maxwell by the Punjab Kings. But the franchise was unable to use him given that they had Josh Inglis, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen and Azmatullah Omarzai as four overseas players, after injuries to Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Maxwell, who would have otherwise occupied the fourth overseas slot between them.

Thus, Owen getting a chance in the playing 11 would be a difficult proposition. Hence, CSK, who would love to have an attacking opening batter who can also bowl decent off-spin to compliment the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Noor Ahmad in the spin department, in their arsenal.

He, alongside Dewald Brevis at three and Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel as openers and at number four respectively, can form a young and fearsome top four that CSK need at all costs for redemption.

Mahipal Lomror

Mahipal Lomror, who did well with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), was bought by the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 mega auction, but was not utilised at all. With experience of 40 IPL matches and the ability to bat down the order and bowl decent left-arm spin, he could be a good fit for a number 6-7 candidate.

Simarjeet Singh

The Delhi pacer, Simarjeet Singh was part of the IPL-winning CSK unit of 2023 and played matches for them in IPL 2022 and 2024. He could fulfil the need for an extra right-arm pace bowler in case the first choice of Anshul Kamboj and Matheesha Pathirana fail to deliver.
