Life, taxes, and breaking Virat Kohli’s records.
Shubman Gill’s start as India’s new Test captain couldn’t have gotten off to a better start, as he continues to break multiple captaincy records. The right-hander, on his way to his eighth half-century in Tests, on July 5 (Friday) in the second Test, broke Kohli’s aggregate of scoring the most runs for an Indian captain in a Test match.
Earlier in the Test, Gill became the first Indian captain to score 250 in Tests, ending with a 269 in just his second Test as India’s skipper. The 25-year-old continued that blazing run, with a second innings half-century, as he now has more than 300 runs in the ongoing Test.
