Mumbai Indians (MI) were a mess in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and expectedly finished last on the points table. Hardik Pandya’s comeback didn’t turn out the way he and the franchise would have expected, and they would be eager to turn things around in the IPL 2025.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Mumbai retained Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma without spending any extra money. Then, in the auction, the five-time champions acquired Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Allah Ghazanfar, Will Jacks, Mitchell Santner and Bevon Jacobs. MI have one of the strongest playing XIs on paper.
