‘Still Got It’ - WATCH: Virat Kohli Nonchalantly Catches Bullet Hit From Matt Short

The ball came straight at Kohli but it was still a fantastic catch, as it was coming at the rate of knots

There was a lot of anticipation surrounding Virat Kohli’s return to Indian colours after seven long months, but both Perth and Adelaide ODIs turned out to be major disappointments. Playing for the first time since the Champions Trophy, Kohli started with an eight-ball duck in the first ODI in Perth and then followed it up with a four-ball duck in the second ODI in Adelaide.

He registered consecutive ducks for the first time in his ODI career, and the lack of conviction in his batting made many question whether he’s still ‘got it’ in him.

Time will only tell where Kohli’s batting stands, but today in the third ODI, he showed that he’s still ‘got it’ as a fielder by taking a fantastic catch to dismiss the well-set Matthew Short.

Picking up from where he left off in Adelaide, Short was looking in fine touch, batting on 30 off 40 balls. He’d found a nice tempo against the spinners and was knocking it around nicely. He looked on course for yet another fifty.

That’s when he decided to take on Washington Sundar, looking to sweep the off-spinner to the boundary. Short connected the hit really well, but he ended up hitting it straight to Kohli, who was stationed near the square leg umpire.

The ball came straight at Kohli, but it was still a fantastic catch, as the ball was coming at the rate of knots. The veteran showed remarkable reflexes to take the catch, nonchalantly, no less.
