Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, And Other Big Names Set To Light Up Legend 90

It’s party time in Chhattisgarh as Raipur braces for a proper cricketing bonanza in February with the commencement of the Legend 90. The seven-team competition, which will be played in a unique 90-ball format, starts February 6th and will feature some of the biggest names in world cricket, both retired and present.
The seven-team competition, which will see 22 matches, will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

Shakib Al Hasan (Dubai Giants)
Shakib Al Hasan might never play for Bangladesh again, but the spin-bowling all-rounder will be in action at Legend 90, 2025. The 37-year-old last played a competitive game in November 2024, featuring in the Abu Dhabi T10 for Bangla Tiger.
Shakib, who has played close to 450 T20s, has played cricket all around the world, and his fans in Bangladesh will surely be eager to watch him in action in Legend 90. Shakib has been banned from bowling in all top-level competitions, so we will have to wait and watch if he will be allowed to bowl in Legend 90 or not.
Shikhar Dhawan (Delhi Royals)
Shikhar Dhawan, who last played an international game for India in 2022, announced his retirement from cricket last year. The left-handed opener, with close to 11000 runs in international cricket across three formats, did feature in the last season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he scored 152 runs in five innings.
Dhawan also made four appearances in the Nepal Premier League 2024, managing scores of 14, 72*, 45 and 5. Watching him bat alongside former West Indies batter Lendl Simmons and former New Zealand batter Ross Taylor will be a delight for all cricket fans.
Suresh Raina (Chhattisgarh Warriors)
You must be really good to have a nickname like Mr. IPL, and Suresh Raina was actually that good. The left-handed batter last played in the IPL in 2021 but is still the fifth-highest run-getter in the tournament - 5528 runs in 200 innings @ 32.52 and a strike rate of 136.7. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan base will be super excited to see their Chinna Thala playing some cricket.

Chris Gayle (Big Boys)
One of the greatest T20 batters of all time, if not the greatest, Chris Gayle will be looking to light up Legend 90 with his towering sixes. A six-hitting machine, Gayle has close to 15000 runs in T20s and smashed 22 tons and 88 fifties during his career.
The 45-year-old left-hander did play the Legends League Cricket, 2023/24, where he smoked 203 runs in four innings. Herschelle Gibbs, Gayle, Tamim Iqbal and Tillakaratne Dilshan - Big Boys will have some top-order in Legend 90.
Moeen Ali (Gujarat Samp)
The most active cricketer on the list, Moeen Ali retired from international cricket in 2024 but has been playing franchise cricket all around the world. The spin-bowling all-rounder was part of the Joburg Super Kings set-up that lost the Eliminator against Sunrisers Eastern Cape on February 5.
Moeen has featured in 71 T20s since 2024, scoring 1101 runs at an average of 22.94 and a strike rate of 126.5. The off-spinner also has 44 wickets @ 23.3 and an economy rate of 7.4. Moeen is also set to feature in the IPL 2025, where he will play for defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Harbhajan Singh (Haryana Gladiators)
One of the pioneers of defensive bowling in the 20-over format, Harbhajan Singh was never a genuine wicket-taker but always found a way to keep the run-flowing in check.
The offspinner has 235 wickets in 268 T20s, but at an economy rate of just 6.79, which is quite impressive. Don’t be surprised if he does the game in Legend 90.
Dwayne Bravo (Rajasthan Kings)
Someone who can bat, bowl, field and entertain - Dwayne Bravo is a pure all-rounder. With 631 wickets to his name, the West Indian all-rounder has the second-most number of wickets in the 20-over format. Bravo is also the third-highest wicket-taker in the IPL. Add 6970 runs to those wickets, you have got yourself a world-class T20 all-rounder.
